If you miss spaghetti on Paleo, you can try Pasghetti! Spaghetti squash noodles are a basic Paleo dish everyone should know how to make. The way spaghetti squash noodles are made most often is probably with a tomato meat sauce because the flavors just go together so well. It really does feel like a pasta dish.
Spaghetti Squash Noodles:
- cut in half
- scoop seeds out
- coat with olive oil
- sprinkle with garlic pow, salt + pepper
- place face down on baking sheet
- bake 40-45 minutes at 375 degrees
- let cool
- scrape with fork for spaghetti “noodles”
Tomato Meat Sauce Ingredients:
- 1 lb grass-fed ground beef
- 4 carrots
- 1/2 yellow onion
- tons of chopped garlic
- 1 can tomato paste
- ghee
- garlic pow
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- balsamic
- thyme
- onion powder
Directions:
- saute the garlic, onions and carrots in ghee (I used OMGhee and it’s the best brand I’ve tried so far!) until they are cooked and slightly caramelized
- add the ground beef
- sprinkle with all the spices mentioned above along with the balsamic
- mix until ground beef is cooked through
- mix carrots, onions and garlic into the ground beef
- add tomato paste
- mix water into pan to create the tomato sauce (you may also use homemade bone broth)
- if you have tomatoes, you can mix those in as well
- add enough water to make the meat sauce as liquidy as you want
You can make your own tomato sauce anytime with real tomatoes, paste and water/broth. I do this all the time because I never buy premade tomato/spaghetti sauce. You can use any type of meat and add in any veggies you have on hand. I usually use some chopped veggies like onions, zucchini and throw in a leafy green, like kale too. I love my meat & veggie sauce super chunky!
Serve the meat sauce on top of you pasghetti just like regular pasta. It’s delish, I promise.
